1. Local-First Data Storage

Remindr! stores your content locally on your device. Personal data created in the app—including tasks, to-dos, calendar events, alarms, countdown timers and saved timer presets, stopwatch lap times, world clock cities, notes, dashboard widget layout, alert settings (snooze intervals, ringtones, and vibration), and currency favorites—is kept in a local SQLite database and private app storage. We do not collect, sell, rent, or track your personal content.

2. Backup & Cloud Synchronization (Local & Dropbox)

Remindr! provides user-controlled backup options:

• No Backup: You can keep all data exclusively on your device with backup turned off.
• Local Backup (remindr_db.bak): When you export a backup file, Remindr! updates this file on your device storage as you make changes. You can move, copy, or save this file wherever you prefer.
• Dropbox Cloud Sync: You can optionally connect a Dropbox account for cloud backup.
  • App Folder Access Only: Remindr! only accesses its own dedicated app folder (/Apps/Remindr Backup/) using OAuth 2.0 PKCE.
  • Account Identification: Your Dropbox account email is shown in the Settings screen so you know which account is linked. It is stored only on your device and is never sent to any developer-managed server.
  • No Access to Other Files: Remindr! cannot view, read, or modify other files, photos, or documents in your Dropbox account.
  • Sync Operation: Backups upload in the background when connected to the internet. When offline, changes are saved locally until a connection is available. Data is transmitted via HTTPS to Dropbox APIs.
• No Developer Servers: There are no developer-hosted user database servers; data remains between your device and your personal Dropbox account.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of Remindr! displays banner and native ads served by Google AdMob.

• Google AdMob may process device identifiers and general network/diagnostic data to serve ads according to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Purchasing Remindr Pro removes all ads.

4. In-App Purchases (Remindr Pro)

Remindr! offers an optional one-time purchase (Remindr Pro) for $1.99 USD (or local store equivalent).

• Purchases are handled through Google Play In-App Billing.
• We do not receive, handle, or store your payment details or card numbers.

5. Device Permissions Requested

Remindr! requests permissions needed for its features:

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Delivers notifications for alarms, timers, and scheduled tasks.
• VIBRATE: Vibrates during alarm and timer alerts when enabled in settings.
• USE_EXACT_ALARM & SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM: Schedules alarms and task reminders to ring at the specified time.
• USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT: Shows the alarm ringing screen over the lock screen.
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK: Plays audio continuously during alarm ringing and keeps countdown timers active.
• RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED: Restores scheduled alarms and reminders after your device restarts.
• WAKE_LOCK: Wakes the screen and CPU when an alarm rings while the device is asleep.
• REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS: Requests exemption from battery saving limits so alarms are not delayed or silenced by the system.
• SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW: Displays an alert banner if an alarm triggers while you are actively using another app.
• INTERNET: Connects to Dropbox for backup (if enabled), updates currency conversion rates, and loads AdMob ads in the free version.
• com.android.vending.BILLING: Processes the Remindr Pro purchase in Google Play.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

• Local Data: Your notes, tasks, alarms, events, and settings stay on your device. Uninstalling Remindr! removes the local database.
• Cloud Backup Files: You can unlink Dropbox or delete your backup file at any time in app settings or directly from Dropbox.

7. Children's Privacy

Remindr! does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
